Rest in peace Jason

This past Friday I lost one of the most amazing people in my life. His name is Jason; he had a great impact on my life. He was funny, exciting, amazing and most of all loved. Jason you will truly be missed by all of the students at San Pasqual Academy. He was always there if you needed someone to talk to. The truth is that I always pictured Jason as invincible I never thought he would die so young. He always seemed to have a solution to everything and nothing seemed too much for him. He loved all of us and especially his own kids. I hope they understand when they are older that their dad was a great man. I will remember you Jason for the rest of my life.

Bunny

If I could be any animal, I would be a bunny. I would be a bunny, because they’re cute and cuddly. They hop around and look like they’re always enjoying themselves. Bunnies are free and can do what makes them happy. Although they seem to have a good life, they also have their worries. I would also like to be a bunny, because they make me happy. I really enjoy seeing them and playing with them. Bunnies are one of the cutest friendliest animals I have owned. I wish to have one again in the future.

“Fourth Quarter Goals 2009.”

This quarter, I will try my best to earn an A. In order to achieve this, I will study hard and turn in all my assignments on time.
This quarter, I will try to stay focused in class. In order to achieve this, I will need to avoid talking in class and ignore the things going on around me.
This quarter, I will try to get a 4.0. In order to achieve this, I will need to do all my work and earn an A in all my classes.

Respose to Obama

“In a global economy where the most valuable skill you can sell is your knowledge, a good education is no longer just a pathway to opportunity – it is a prerequisite.

It is our responsibility as lawmakers and as educators to make this system work. But it is the responsibility of every citizen to participate in it. So tonight, I ask every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training. . . . And dropping out of high school is no longer an option. It's not just quitting on yourself, it's quitting on your country – and this country needs and values the talents of every American.

These education policies will open the doors of opportunity for our children. But it is up to us to ensure they walk through them. In the end, there is no program or policy that can substitute for a parent – a mother or father who will attend those parent/teacher conferences, or help with homework after dinner, or turn off the TV, put away the video games, and read to their child. I speak to you not just as a president, but as a father when I say that responsibility for our children's education must begin at home.”

I feel that by Obama giving this particular speech he saying how he sees leadership and success in every American citizen. How he refuses to see our economy or civilization fail because of lack of education. This makes me feel like he believes that every American citizen has potential and ability to succeed. America is the way it is mainly because of education. So many young teens throw their life away when the throw away their education. Then we have the adults who quit school who now struggle in life to form a better one. It’s a new beginning with Obama being president America should succeed and be the best they can be. Education can get you where you want to be. America as a whole should want to succeed.

Poetry

At first, I thought rhyme was words that sound alike, but I learned that rhyme is a repetition of the sound of the stressed vowel and any sound that fallows in words that are close together.

An example of a poem with end rhyme is below. The title is love poem, and the author is Gary R. Hess. The rhyme scheme is A, BB, A, CC.

On my poetry pretest, I was below grade-level. On my posttest, I hope that I will be at or above grade-level.

"Imagery and Figurative Language."

At first, I thought imagery was pictures being described in your own words, but I learned that this was wrong. Actually, imagery is language that appeals to the five senses.I also learned about figurative language. I used to think figurative language was just simple phrases, but I learned that figurative language is a word or phrase that describes one thing or another and is not meant to be understood on a literal level. The three main types of figurative language are similes, metaphors, and personification
